Don't Give Up
/At that moment when you want to give up— when your body is weary and your mind is saying, "I can't go on"— what happens then? 🔥
I hit a new PR on the trails yesterday. 15 miles. And I had to fight for it. At one point, about halfway in, I found myself faced with that unrelenting question: Why am I doing this?
The more I run, the more answers I find and yesterday's was this: I want to know how strong I can become.
I want to callous my mind so that off the trail, I can hit that place of fatigue and pain, and still know I won't give up. 🔥
This is a practice.
Showing up, training hard. Giving what you can in the moment. Reaching for goals you are confident in, but that you aren't sure you can achieve.
You won't know until you go for it.
Endurance sports—and yoga, too—they teach us how to focus the power of our minds. To understand the voice in our heads, why we're doing what we're doing. To find the place beyond the chatter, and past the pain, where we can tap into our own resilience. 🔥
My reminder today is that whatever struggle you are facing, whatever mountain you're climbing, know this: you have the power to reach beyond what you think you're capable of.
Don't give up. 🔥
