Trust the Season You're In
/Four years ago in Upper Park (Chico, CA). A quiet sunset hike. 🌄
This photo was taken before I'd become a runner. Before I ran half marathons, marathons, the 50k.
Before I'd published any of my books. Before I’d said yes to finally going all in on my career as a writer.
Before I'd had the dream to leave northern California and relocate to Utah. 🔥Before I’d met my husband.
Before many healing moments in my journey that have surprised and amazed me.
When this photo was taken, I was coming out of a seasonal depression and I was about to transition jobs. I felt overworked and underpaid. I felt a bit lost. I didn't realize how much was about to change for me— and in perfect timing.
2020-2024 has been massive for me. Waves of growth, waves of healing 🌊 Lots of change!
💛 I’m sharing this as a reminder today. A reminder to trust the season you're in. A reminder to reconnect with yourself and your dreams. Have you given up hope on the thing you know you want? Have you sacrificed your goals to please someone else? Have you veered off track, away from the life you desire?
If you feel restless, discontent, uncertain... know that it will pass. If you feel like you’ve fallen out of alignment with your purpose— or self-sabotaged your way out of something beautiful— can you take a moment, a deep breath, and come back to YOU?
Come back to the strong part of you.
The intuitive part of you.
The part of you that loves yourself unconditionally.
Breathe there for a moment.
Can you slow down and listen to your inner wisdom? Will you tap into the feeling of self-trust?
Something new is on the horizon. There is always a way back to yourself.
Care for YOU. You are the most important person in your life. Take gentle care of yourself in small ways every day. Moments of quiet. Moments of peace. Take little moments every single day to reconnect with your heart.
Visualize what YOU really want. Ask for help from those who love you. And keep going 🔥Keep going even when you don’t know what’s around the corner and how things might all shift. Keep trusting, plugging yourself into the moment, finding ways to feel empowered right now, even if there are things you want to change.
Keep preparing yourself, humbling yourself, honoring where you are and who you are becoming.
I know from experience that it can all shift. You can have what you truly desire. You can create a life you love.
Be here now, deeply connected with yourself, and take a slow, deep breath.
It all starts here.
