Teaching Power Yoga Classes
/Shoutout to all the badass yoga teachers who are out there keeping up their classes!
I see you.
Yoga teachers who are in the middle of their yoga teacher training, or whose graduation was impacted by the COVID shutdowns
Yoga teachers whose primary income is from classes that have been canceled or modified because of the pandemic who have been on their game becoming experts at teaching virtually, and whose hard work and dedication is allowing communities to thrive despite turmoil, uncertainty and change
To the yoga teachers who haven’t signed up for a training but want to, and aren’t sure which training to do (or whether the training they want to do is even going to happen this year)
To the brand new yoga teachers who have only taught a handful of classes and may feel stressed about getting in front of a room full of yogis
To the experienced yoga teachers who are constantly looking to learn, grow, and improve their teaching
Y’all are BADASS!
Yoga teachers have been on my mind and in my heart lately. Especially NEW yoga teachers. When I finished my power yoga teacher training 8 years ago, I felt like there were a lot of challenges in launching classes.
Finding places to teach that were the right fit.
Building your confidence as a new yoga teacher.
Building classes and creating relationships with students.
Becoming comfortable in front of the room.
Remembering what to say when you teach yoga.
That was all challenging and I can only imagine it’s more challenging in this quarantine/COVID environment.
So, I’m curious… what do you need support with?
What are you struggling with in the transition from teacher training to actually teaching?
Are you even teaching at all right now, or are you waiting for COVID to shift?
I’d love to support in whatever way I can.
One resource I created recently is a point-to-point script for teaching a power class. I detail out specific cues for the poses so that you don’t have to struggle to find the words. If you need help with memorization or smoothing out transitions, this tool can help.
You could even experiment with reading this script aloud to a group over Zoom if you wanted to.
It’s a flexible, practical document that can assist you with building your confidence as you teach. Finding your voice.
It’s almost 50 pages, too— a good chunk of information and plenty of space to take notes and plan out your class.
If you’re interested in a discounted copy and can provide feedback, hit me up and let’s chat.
Wishing you all well during this time— and thank you for doing what you do as a yoga teacher!
