Feeling Confident and Strong This Spring

Anyone else kicking up your fitness routine for springtime?

Now that the weather’s a little warmer and the days are a little longer, I find I have a lot more energy and motivation to work out. In addition to weekly workouts, I’m cleaning up my diet, drinking more water, and prioritizing rest days and sleep.

Here are some quick tips to help you take great care of you and feel confident about your body.

Springtime Routines to Feel Awesome

Increase your Intake of Fruit and Vegetables

Fill your basket at the grocery store or farmer’s market with a rainbow of colorful, nutritious fruits and veggies. Healthy, fresh, seasonal food gives us great energy and all of the essential vitamins and minerals we need. If you’re lacking inspiration, there are a lot of great bloggers and Instagram accounts with recipes and meal ideas. I tend to enjoy making dishes with just a few simple ingredients. Nourish yourself to help support your workout and daily self care routines. Great nutrition helps keep your health in priority.

Mix Up Your Workout Routine

Having a well-rounded fitness routine can help boost your strength. Challenge yourself to keep your body guessing. Simple exercises like push-ups, planks, and squats are great to mix in with a consistent yoga practice. Hiring a personal trainer, trying a dance class, going for a trail run, or attending martial arts classes are also fun ways to mix it up.

Drink Water

Staying hydrated will give your body the chance to flush away any toxins and it will also keep you energized too. Drink water throughout your day, and add more if you do a sweaty workout.

De-Stress

Make time to relax and rejuvenate your system. Your nervous system depends on regulation in order to maintain healthy levels of cortisol. If you find that you’re experiencing high anxiety or a lot of stress at work, see where you can fit in some much-deserved self care. A hot epsom salt bath, an evening alone with some time to journal or meditate, or a refreshing walk in the park are all simple ways to nourish your body, mind and spirit.

What other healthy habits are keeping you feeling strong and confident these days? I’d love to hear! ;)
