Grounding Meditations for Savasana
/The end of a yoga class— and the pose Savasana (corpse pose)— is arguably the most profound and impactful moment in a practice.
It is the time when we allow all the poses we’ve practiced throughout a class to integrate.
To be received by the body, mind and spirit.
Savasana is a beautiful, and sometimes challenging, pose.
It can also be challenging for new yoga teachers to teach it. There is the awkward silence, students fidgeting, the choice between playing music or speaking or staying silent.
When I first started teaching yoga, I wasn’t sure what to say during Savasana. Eventually I began to develop some simple meditations I would share during class. The more I shared, the more I found students would benefit from hearing the calming sound of my voice.
That’s why I wrote my newest e-book, Savasana Meditations: The Art of Relaxation.
Included in the book are 21 unique meditations (just one page each) that you can read aloud to your students in 1-2 minutes while they are resting in Savasana.
Savasana is the art of relaxation. As a new yoga teacher, it can be hard to know what to say during this pose. In this 30-page e-book, learn how to teach Savasana effectively so that your students can get the most out of this restorative pose. Includes:
The benefits of Savasana
Considerations for teaching it including how to use props, how to modify the pose, what to do when students want to skip Savasana, and more!
Effective cues for guiding students into and out of Savasana
21 calming meditations to read during Savasana
