Two of My Favorite Smoothie Recipes
/ Rachel WarmathSpring’s arrival means warmer temperatures here in northern California… which means (!!)… I’ve been making smoothies! :)
I’ve always been a big fan of smoothies in the spring and summer and this year is no different.
Here are the two recipes I’m loving right now.
Refreshing Green Smoothie
Spinach juice
Celery juice
Coconut water
Frozen banana
Frozen mango
Frozen peaches
Frozen papaya
I made the spinach and celery juice a day beforehand and kept it in the fridge so it would be nice and cold. I don’t measure anything but my guess is that the ratio was something like this: 1/4 cup spinach juice, 1/4 cup celery juice, 1/3 cup coconut water. 1/2 cup banana, 1/3 cup mango, 1/4 cup peaches, 1/4 cup papaya. Blend til smooth… SO good! Very fresh and tropical. You can also sub in some cucumber juice, or use frozen strawberries or acerola and those go well with the other flavors. YUM.
Banana Blueberry Bowl
Almond milk
Coconut water
Frozen blueberries
Frozen banana
Granola
This is a simple and delicious smoothie bowl. I put around 1 cup almond milk and 1/4 cup coconut water for the liquid. You could use any nut milk. For the fruit, I used a whole frozen banana and 1/2 cup blueberries. Blend to desired thickness and then sprinkle granola on top for an added crunch. Other great toppings: goji berries, peanut butter or almond butter drizzle, toasted coconut, cacao nibs, or chopped strawberries or bananas. Delicious :)
